Figure 1: Three plates of cultures. Experimental LB agar plate with E. coli BL21 (DE3), pGEM-gbr22 plasmid with DNA. Ampicillin present in plate, as well as purple colonies (top); "Fun" plate, coughed on and rubbed on floor by freezer. Plate contains no Ampicillin and yellowish colonies (middle); Control LB agar plate with same specimen as specified in Experimental/DNA plate. However, Ampicillin but no bacteria present. Did not have resistant gene (bottom).
